You can't go wrong when vintage sterling charms envelope you. Add to it the endearing center piece which beckons with the most beautiful message ever known to mankind, ''I love you.''

(Followed by a universally known second most beautiful message, "I'll buy it for you").

The charms rest on a lovely overscale sterling cable-link necklace.

For all I know pieces like this could scrap for more these days with the skyrocketing prices of precious metals. But don't ever cash it in -- the loss of such a ''charmer'' would be sad indeed.
